Ryan Carbrey
Managing Director
Mr. Carbrey is a Vice President at Midwest Plains Capital, where he applies a sharp strategic mindset and a steady hand to growth-stage investments and portfolio operations.
Mr. Carbrey holds a BA in Economics from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Rice University, where he combined his academic rigor with a practical, hands-on approach to business. Known among his colleagues as a go-to problem solver, Ryan brings clarity and creativity to every challenge.
Outside the office, he’s a soon-to-be dad gearing up for his biggest adventure yet. He recharges on the golf course, exploring new destinations, or holding court on the pickleball court (real or imagined). Whether he’s daydreaming about market strategies or finding the right angle on a serve, Ryan brings focus and energy to everything he does.
Phil Carselowey
Managing Director
Mr. Carselowey is a Vice President at Midwest Plains Capital, where he brings energy, intuition, and a relationship-first approach to every investment opportunity. With a sharp eye for potential and a passion for connecting with people, Phil plays a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and supporting portfolio companies across industries.
Phil holds a BS in Finance from Kansas State University (though he’ll proudly remind you he’s a lifelong Jayhawk fan — Rock Chalk!). Known around the office for his humor, approachability, and habit of showing up in basketball shorts and no shoes, Phil brings a relaxed but focused leadership style that puts founders at ease and teams in motion.
Outside of work, he’s a husband, a father, and a self-declared pickleball extraordinaire — and always thinking about how to get to the top, with others right there with him.
Thierry Rignol
Principal
Thierry Rignol has served as a Principal with Midwest Plains Capital since July 2014. Mr Rignol previously served as a senior analyst with IHS Markit (NYSE: INFO), a data analytics firm where he oversaw the due diligence on the acquisition of hydraulic fracturing sand mines in the Permian Basin and other capital intensive projects.
Mr Rignol holds a BS in Bioengineering and a BA in Political Science from Rice University, and a MBA from Yale School of Management.
Kevin Bush
Principal
Kevin Bush has served as an Principal with Midwest Plains Capital. He is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence, and monitoring performance on current portfolio investments.
After graduating from Rice University with a degree in Mathematical Economic Analysis, Mr Bush joined Simon Law Firm as a trial attorney.
Mr Bush holds a Juris Doctor from Stanford Law School.
